About Adam Young Law Firm, LLC

Zealously Protecting The Rights Of The Accused And Injured

I am attorney Adam Young, a trial lawyer who focuses on criminal defense and personal injury law. I began my legal career as a prosecutor at the 9th Circuit Solicitor's Office in Charleston, focusing on criminal domestic violence cases. This was a unique opportunity to learn the workings of the criminal justice system, including negotiating pleas and trying hundreds of bench trials.

After less than a year, I was promoted to the violent crime team. This gave me the opportunity to successfully prosecute violent crime trials ranging from DUI/DWI to murder charges.

This experience provided me with a thorough understanding of the South Carolina criminal justice system, including how to assess the weaknesses of each criminal case during preliminary hearings or pre indictment stages and negotiate bonds and plea agreements between attorneys and judges.

I excelled as a prosecutor and gained invaluable trial experience. My trial skills were also refined by completing two intensive workshops in criminal trial practice at the National Advocacy Center (NAC) in 2010 and 2011.

My time as a prosecutor also provided me with considerable trial experience. I know when to go to trial and how to find weaknesses in the state's case. I have earned a reputation as a strategic, aggressive trial lawyer who fights hard for clients. My success has resulted in membership in The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100, as well as an AV Preeminent* rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

My honors and awards include an AV Preeminent* rating from Martindale-Hubbell. I was also selected as a member of The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100, which is an invitation-only organization that recognizes the top 100 trial lawyers in each state.

When I am not representing my clients, I work as a prosecutor for the city of Folly Beach. I was hired for this position in 2013. As a Folly Beach prosecutor, I have gained insight and experience that is ultimately beneficial to my private clients. Courtroom exposure, a sharpened skill set and building a strong reputation as a legal professional are only a few client benefits. Additionally, this experience has provided me with knowledge regarding what is needed by a prosecutor to convict or prove a case — which, in turn, helps me understand what is necessary in building the strongest defense possible.
